Instructor Program Outline
Course Objective:
The objective of this program and curriculum is to prepare the students to become licensed esthetics or nails instructor. To develop effective communication skills to connect with future professionals from different generations and learning styles, learn techniques to address different behaviors, evaluate performance and guide future professionals to reach their career goals. Upon completion of (600) clock hours, a student will obtain a license and be fully qualified to begin working as an entry-level instructor.
Education Goal:
The training provided will prepare the graduate with the knowledge and skills needed to pass the State Board Examination and if desired, pursue an entry-level, as an Esthetics Instructor, manicurist Instructor, nail salon manager, and salon owner.

- 20 Weeks – 30 hours per week
- 27 Weeks – 23 hours per week
Requirements for Maintaining Satisfactory Progress:
- Maintain a 76% Cumulative Attendance Rate
- Maintain a 76% Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA)
93 – 100 EXCELLENT
85 – 92 VERY GOOD
76 – 84 SATISFACTORY
75 and BELOW UNSATISFACTORY PROGRESS
Admission Requirements:
Documents Required for Admissions:
*All applicants he/she wishes to enroll in the instructor program must be at least 18 years of age and must provide documentation of holding a current active Washington State Esthetics or Manicure license.
Instructor Curriculum:
Orientation 5
Preparation for classroom activities 200
including, but not limited to; Choice of
teaching methods – classroom setup,
topic/subject matter, written lesson plans,
student assignments, materials
and supplies, and record keeping.
Presentation of information, but not limited 200
to; Lectures, demonstrations, questions and
answers, project methods, and discussions.
Application or Practice including, but not 145
limited to; Clinic supervision, classroom
management, and client relations.
Evaluation: by the instructor-trainee of 50
the student’s understanding and performance
including, but not limited to; Written/practical
assignments, and communication skills.

*Note* not all trainings may be on mannequins
*The State of Washington requires 500 hours of training for instructor training. Paris Academy of Beauty requires an additional 100 hours (600 total hours). These additional hours are used for individualized state board preparation as well as specific hands-on experiences to ensure those in the program are best prepared for the industry.
